“Right. Okay. Us birds do accept your apology, and on behalf of all us birds of Leggyville, I apologize for our choice of songs, and I especially apologize for our singing after we began sounding like a bunch of angry cats. And if all of you don’t mind, we’ll just be making a nest for the night in the park. You know, sleep it off.”
The next day, early risers could hear the motorcycles starting up. A few Hound’s Glenn residents watched a long line of motorcycles with their very tired riders head toward the open road. The little birds woke up all during the rest of the morning, took off, and wearily beat their wings homeward. Everything seemed pretty much back to normal, except for a few days there were an awful lot of feathers in the streets. A gentle wind took most of that away.  …TonTon Jim
